American Idol votes are in Jessica Sanchez

After escaping elimination last week, Filipino - Mexican Jessica Sanchez was again in hands of American Idol voters on Friday evening.She was deemed safe from the American Idol chopping block in the latest round of the competition Friday Evening.

Sanchez garnered enough votes to stay away from the show's dreaded "bottom three".
Eliminated instead was Colton Dixon.
American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe earlier tweeted that the latest elimination round will "shock" a lot of people.

"Wow, we are going to have a lot of unhappy people tonight, "he said via his twitter Account.

 With the lone save from this season's competition used last week for Sanchez, Dixon was let go without any resistance from the three American Idol judges.

Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steve Tyler were met with harsh criticisms last week following their dramatic save of Sanchez after the singer was eliminated from the competition. Fans and critics show fore saw the doom for Sanchez, who has been favored by the judges to win.

On Thursday's (Manila time) performance round, Sanchez was praised by the judges for her soulful rendition of Alicia Key's' "Fallin", But for her second song choice, Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness, "she received mixed reviews.
